    2018 EAST COAST STAR PARTY OCTOBER 4-6

    Please avoid arriving after dark.
    (The star party ends Sunday morning of October 7)

    Star Party Registration – One time fee of $20/per person.
    Pay Kent at the star party registration desk in the observing area. Not necessary to pre-register.


    Hampton Lodge Campground, 1631 Waterlily Road, Coinjock, NC (252-453-2732)

    Portable restrooms conveniently located near observing area.  Showers and country store located 
    on the campground site.

    You may camp near your telescope. No power is available in the observing field.

    NOTE: THE SKY IS 6TH- MAGNITUDE (21.2 SKY QUALITY METER) 
    BUT CEDAR TREES OBSTRUCT THE HORIZON. 
    OBSERVING AREA IS 100' TO THE LEFT AFTER CAMPGROUND ENTRANCE.
    PLEASE OBEY CAMPGROUND 5 MPH SPEED LIMIT AT ALL TIMES!

    REGISTRATION: BEGINS AT 2:00 PM & CONTINUES ALL WEEKEND

    FRIDAY & SATURDAY
    Free coffee and snacks all night.   Hors d’oeurves party at 3:00 pm
    Dining options: Coinjock Marina (Waterlily Road 5 miles).
    Currituck BBQ in Coinjock (north on Rt. 158, 10 miles, good food and cheap prices).
    Hardee’s, McDonalds, Subway and other fast food in Grandy, NC (16 miles south on Rt. 158)

    SATURDAY:
    OPTIONAL: BRUNCH AT NEARBY RESTAURANT
    5:30 PM COOKOUT AT OBSERVING SITE
    KENT WILL SUPPLY HAMBURGERS, HOT DOGS, SOFT DRINKS, ETC. - BRING A DISH IF YOU WOULD LIKE.

    DOOR PRIZES TO BE ANNOUNCED. DRAWING SATURDAY NIGHT AFTER COOKOUT.
