Exhibit Opening: A Contemporary Response to the Harlem Renaissance

Ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. followed by refreshments of ham biscuits and desserts. View the exhibit, have your photo taken at our ‘piano bar’, and try on hats in the 20s style. Adults and children may participate in hands-on activities that include ink art suitable for framing, learning the steps of the Charleston, and making a collage in the style of Romare Bearden. Docents will be on hand for gallery tours. Watch students from area colleges compete in a game of Jeopardy-Harlem Renaissance style in the Gaither Auditorium at 1 p.m. Join a round table discussion at 3:30 p.m.
