    Dr. Glenn Bowman, Professor of History and Director of International Programs, ECSU, will discuss that in 1919, Elizabeth City-area African-Americans celebrated the 300th anniversary of the arrival of the first Africans in the Americas (Jamestown, Virginia). The celebration was one to remember, in more ways than one, in both positive and negative ways.
